Another season has arrived, another autumn with Tend Magazine. Saying Time Flies may seem glib, but it is true. This issue has a lot about home, finding your sense of place, celebrating autumn, and gathering all fall has to offer and storing it for winter. My section, of course, is all about food and herbs. Elke found a few game experts who wow us with their recipes for partridge, rabbit, and pheasant. Learn all about mushrooms! Kirsten shares how to ferment mushrooms, and I show you how to grow your own, preserve them, and cook with them! Debbie shares her recipe for elderberry syrup, which is perfect for this time of year. Kim tells us many ways to preserve the autumn harvest - she even shares her secret "Kim"chi recipe. There is also a homemade granola 101, and blending your own tub teas. And that is just my section! Throughout the magazine there are articles about building an off-grid village, going off grid, creating a home. There is autumn reading, and of course there are patterns. Make a tweed cowl, build an indoor campfire craft with the littles, and make some felt stuffies. 124 pages of great things to take us into autumn. I love our contributors. Have I told you that recently? Everyone is so passionate about what they do, what they make, and they love to share with others. We are lucky to have so many creative, dynamic writers/makers/doers. They are fabulous!
