Our family is Denise, Brice, Gavin, and Ammy, along with Draper our dog, Comet our cat, and a few thousand plants. We are living intentionally at Wholly Rooted Farm, with plans for ongoing multigenerational living and independent adult spaces with legacy planning for this home, future structures, and our land. We deeply believe in the fundamental principles of permaculture and regenerative agriculture, and work to embody our commitment to the earth, environment, and living things inhabiting it. 

Brice is a software engineer, tinkerer, formula one fan, smart home enthusiast, drone flyer, cider maker, DIY'er, and dad to two always unschooled humans. He is always programming something in our house to make it more efficient and use less energy. 

Denise is a Regenerative Herbalist & Aromatherapist,  Permaculture and Advanced Social Systems Designer, artist, writer, educator, seed saver, natural perfumer, and medicinal herb grower. Find out more about Denise here.  Denise first became interested in whole foods, herbalism, and aromatherapy when she was diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases (Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogren's)  and a flare-up of an old back injury. As her oldest was diagnosed with a long list of life-threatening food and chemical allergies, we moved even more into herbalism and aromatherapy. It has helped us manage our life in a way to supports health and wellness and manages the pain and effects of chronic autoimmune issues. 

Gavin (G) is 20 and is an aspiring video editor and producer. Gavin loves computers, collectibles, hanging out with his friends around the globe on Discord and zoom, and editing video. He loves keeping things organized, building things, and programming our smart home.

Ammy (A), 21,  is an artist and creative soul who loves to explore her passions and interests deeply. She is an accomplished miniature model painter who paints custom Warhammer 40K models and specializes in builds of Gundam models.  She loves helping guide the look and feel of Wholly Rooted visually and being a part of our educational course planning and video recordings. She is a wicked proofreader and helps ensure our language is LGBTQIA2+ inclusive. She also loves Formula 1 and is a walking encyclopedia.

Our family is an always unschooled household, following the interests and passions we each have to learn about the world and our place in it. Through being interested and engaged, learning has always been fun and interesting, and everyone in our household knows an incredible amount of information about just about everything. We are all avid readers, explorers, engaged learners, hands-on doers, and hand-makers. We bring the energy of passion and interest to everything we do.
