Wood Violet
This digital mixed media print is of the Wisconsin state flower, the Wood Violet, Viola papilionacea. This native plant is found in woodlands and meadows. It is the state flower for Wisconsin as well as Illinois, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. It is used culinarily as well as medicinally, and blooms in spring.
