St. John's Wort
This digital mixed media print is of St. John's Wort. Several species of StJW are native in Wisconsin, though the medicinal variety is specifically Hypericum perforatum. The medicinal herb is non-native and found throughout the state on distubed soils and in fields. It is considered a noxious weed in some areas. Medicinally, it is the sunny herb for mood/nervous system, and topically the hypericum oil is used for skin support including circulation and muscle/nerve pain.
