Motherwort for the Heart
This digital mixed media print is of Motherwort, Leonurus cardiaca. This plant is found throughout Wisconsin, though originally from Central Asia and SE Europe. Traditional uses are related to "pains peculiar to females" as well as cardiac function. It is a very bitter plant, but also used as a nervine.
