Permaculture Mentoring

Regenerative design support for your home, garden, business, and daily life

Permaculture mentoring is for people who want to create a more regenerative, resilient, and well-designed life, but who do not have the time, capacity, or need for a full Permaculture Design Certificate program. This is not a formal PDC, and it is not a one-time consultation. It is a guided mentoring process that gives you structure, reflection, and practical next steps as you design your own system over time.

Together, we look at the patterns already shaping your life, land, work, resources, energy, and relationships. From there, we begin to design systems that are more nourishing, less extractive, and better aligned with the way you actually live.

This work can include your garden, home, land, creative practice, family rhythms, business, food systems, herbal apothecary, community care projects, or personal resilience. The focus is not on creating a perfect design on paper. The focus is on helping you understand your system clearly enough to make wise, grounded, doable changes.

What This Mentoring Is
Permaculture design mentoring is a seasonal, practical container for people who want regular support while applying permaculture ethics and principles to real life. We meet on Zoom over the winter season, when there is time to reflect, plan, map, imagine, and prepare before the active growing and implementation seasons begin.

Each session gives you space to ask questions, clarify priorities, work through obstacles, and receive guidance on your next steps. Between sessions, you may work on maps, observations, lists, seasonal plans, garden layouts, resource inventories, or small design assignments. You do not need to have acreage or a farm. Permaculture applies just as meaningfully to a small yard, rented space, balcony, household rhythm, business, or community project.

This mentoring is especially useful if you have been gathering ideas for years but feel unsure how to organize them into a coherent plan. It is also for people who have taken classes, read books, watched videos, or started projects, but need help translating information into a system that fits their actual home, climate, budget, body, time, and life.

This Is For You If
This mentoring may be a good fit if you:

- Want to create a more regenerative home, garden, business, or life system
- Feel overwhelmed by ideas and need help organizing them into a clear plan
- Want to grow more food, herbs, flowers, or medicine in a way that fits your life
- Are interested in permaculture but do not have time for a full PDC
- Need accountability and guidance through the planning process
- Want to understand your household, land, or business as an interconnected system
- Are building an herbal garden, apothecary, microbusiness, community project, or land-based practice
- Want to reduce waste, increase resilience, and make better use of what you already have
- Are navigating a life transition and want to redesign your rhythms, resources, or environment
- Want support from someone who brings together permaculture, herbalism, aromatics, community care, and regenerative leadership

You do not need to be an expert. You do need to be willing to observe, reflect, experiment, and take steady action.

Possible Areas of Focus
Every mentoring relationship is shaped around your needs, your site, and your goals. We may focus on one primary area or work across several interconnected areas.

Garden and Land Design
Whether you have a small urban yard, a suburban garden, a rural homestead, or a few containers, we can create a design process that fits your scale. The goal is to make your garden more productive, beautiful, ecologically connected, and realistic to maintain.

Possible focus areas include:
- Site observation and mapping
- Zone and sector planning
- Kitchen gardens
- Herb gardens
- Pollinator gardens
- Perennial food and medicine gardens
- Composting and soil building
- Water flow and rainwater considerations
- Plant guilds and companion planting
- Seasonal garden planning
- Designing for your available time and capacity

 Herbal and Aromatic Gardens
My work in herbalism, aromatherapy, flower essences, and perfumery informs the way I approach plantings. If you want to grow medicinal, aromatic, culinary, or sensory plants, we can design plantings that support both ecological function and personal use.

Possible focus areas include:

- Medicinal herb gardens
- Aromatic plantings
- Flower essence gardens
- Tea gardens
- Perfumery and scent gardens
- Pollinator and beneficial insect habitat
- Harvest planning
- Drying and storage systems
- Home apothecary integration

Business and Creative Systems
Permaculture is not only for gardens. It is a powerful way to understand a business, nonprofit project, creative practice, or community offering. We can look at inputs, outputs, energy leaks, client flow, communication, burnout points, values, and long-term sustainability.

Possible focus areas include:
- Mapping your business ecosystem
- Identifying energy leaks and bottlenecks
- Creating regenerative workflows
- Seasonal planning and launch cycles
- Clarifying offerings
- Designing around capacity
- Ethical growth and right-scale expansion
- Community care and reciprocity
- Integrating values into operations

Life Design and Regenerative Leadership
Many people come to permaculture because something in their life no longer feels sustainable. This mentoring can support a broader redesign of your rhythms, commitments, resources, and leadership practices.

Possible focus areas include:
- Seasonal rhythms and planning
- Burnout recovery and capacity mapping
- Regenerative leadership practices
- Community care systems
- Personal resilience
- Decision-making frameworks
- Aligning your life with your values
- Designing for enoughness rather than constant expansion

How the Mentoring Works
This is a paid mentoring container offered primarily over Zoom during the winter season. We meet regularly, and each session builds on the last. You bring your questions, goals, challenges, maps, photos, notes, or ideas. I help you organize the information, identify patterns, clarify priorities, and choose next steps.

The process generally includes:
- An initial intake and goal-setting session
- Site or systems assessment through photos, maps, notes, or conversation
- Regular Zoom mentoring sessions
- Between-session assignments or reflection prompts
- Design mapping and seasonal planning
- Practical next steps after each meeting
- Ongoing refinement as your design becomes clearer

Depending on your focus, you may create a garden plan, home systems map, seasonal calendar, project outline, planting plan, apothecary plan, business systems map, or personal resilience design.

This work is collaborative. I do not arrive with a prepackaged plan and tell you what to do. I help you see your system more clearly and make decisions that fit your place, resources, values, and capacity.

What You Can Expect
You can expect a grounded, practical, and supportive process. Sessions are designed to help you move from scattered ideas to clear action. We will work with what is real: your available time, physical ability, budget, climate, household needs, land access, caregiving responsibilities, business obligations, and emotional capacity.

You can also expect honest reflection. Regenerative design asks us to notice where our systems are depleted, overcomplicated, extractive, or misaligned. That noticing is not about shame. It is about creating more intelligent systems that support life rather than drain it.

By the end of the mentoring process, you should have:
- A clearer understanding of your current system
- A stronger sense of your priorities
- A practical design direction
- Seasonal next steps
- A plan that fits your capacity
- More confidence applying permaculture thinking to your life, land, or work

What This Is Not
This is not a Permaculture Design Certificate program. It does not replace a full PDC, and it does not result in a certificate.

This is also not traditional consulting. I am not creating a finalized professional design package for you, drawing engineered plans, or acting as a landscape architect. Instead, I am mentoring you through your own design process so that you understand your system and can make informed decisions.

This mentoring does not include legal, engineering, architectural, medical, or financial advice. When needed, you may be encouraged to consult licensed professionals, local experts, contractors, builders, or regulatory offices.

Why Winter?
Winter is an ideal season for permaculture mentoring because it creates space for observation, reflection, and design before the busy implementation season begins. It is the time to study patterns, review what worked and what did not, map resources, dream into possibility, and choose realistic next steps.

Instead of rushing into spring with too many disconnected ideas, winter mentoring helps you enter the growing season with a plan.

My Approach
My approach to permaculture is practical, relational, and rooted in lived experience. I bring together permaculture design, herbalism, aromatics, community care, nonprofit leadership, and regenerative systems thinking. I am interested in systems that actually work for real people, not idealized designs that require unlimited time, money, land, or energy.

I care about beauty, function, resilience, nourishment, and reciprocity. I also care about accessibility. A regenerative life is not only about having the perfect garden or homestead. It is about learning how to design relationships between people, plants, place, resources, and care.

Investment
Permaculture mentoring is a paid offering. This work requires preparation, review, reflection, and individualized support between sessions, so spaces are limited.

If you are interested in the next winter mentoring round, please fill out the form to the right.
Before We Begin
Before starting, you may be asked to complete a short intake form so I can understand your goals, location, site or project, experience level, and what kind of support you are seeking.

Helpful materials may include:
- Photos of your space
- A rough sketch or map
- Notes about sun, wind, water, access, and existing plants
- A list of current challenges
- A list of dreams or desired outcomes
- A sense of your available time and budget
- Any previous plans, garden records, or project notes

You do not need everything figured out before we start. The point of mentoring is to help you create clarity.

Ready to Design a More Regenerative System?
If you want support applying permaculture to your home, garden, business, creative work, or daily life, I would be glad to hear from you.

This mentoring is for people ready to move from inspiration into design, and from design into steady, realistic action.
